the dealer showing an ace is more cause for concern than them showing a 10. if they showing a 10 and draw a 10 or face card they bust but if they showing an ace any card they draw will be 20 or lower.
since casinos use multiple decks you cant really judge what cards are coming next. in a single deck if a lot of lower cards have been played then the chances are higher a 10 or face card will be coming soon.
odds are against hitting on 15, there are only 6 cards that will not make you bust and 28 cards that will bust you and thats just a single deck.
of course this raises the question; is it better to lose with 15 to the dealers two 10's? or losing to the dealers 12 because you busted thinking the dealer had two 10's?
the answer to that question is what you you should do when you find yourself holding 15 and thinking about hitting.

Spanish 21 sucks for the player. If you think it's fun fine, but don't expect to win at it. If you want to try a variation of blackjack that is still fun look for Blackjack Switch. In this game, you are dealt 2 hands and allowed to switch cards between them to improve each hand. The kicker is that a blackjack pays even money and a dealer total of 22 results in a push. Those rules sound worse than they are, and if played properly the house edge at this game is only about .5%, which is comparable or better than perfectly played traditional blackjack (assuming you're not counting).
This game is available at a few of strip and downtown casinos. I believe 4 Queens, Casino Royale, and Harrah's all have it. Just make sure you look up proper strategy (just search for it on the net) before playing, as much of the strategy is different than regular blackjack.

The game has an inherent house edge built in to the odds. The only way to beat this house edge is to count the cards as they are dealt. There are dozens of ways to do that from the very basic to the very complex. The theory goes that by monitoring the count of the deck a player knows when they have a bad shoe and when they have a good shoe. When the odds are in their favor the player bets big, when the shoe is against them they bet small. They keep doing this until the pit boss figures out what they are doing and kicks them out of the blackjack area.
On the first hand of blackjack no one knows what is going to be pulled out of the shoe, so the standard house edge is still in effect.

blackjacks suck. and they can easily be taken away from you and used on you in a fight. especially a woman. what you need is a pair of brass knuckles. once you make a fist with them they cant be stripped from you and you can take out multiple people without hitting very hard. they are only 20 bucks and you can get them at any gun show. but whats that gonna do if somebody has a gun or knife? not much. i suggest yo get a hand gun. or i know they are selling tasers for women right now. they are pink and small but pack a big punch. they shoot out the electrodes just like the police ones

as far as i know there's no such system. many have tried and failed. there are reports of short success but that's all. you can't beat the casinos. rainman did (but was caught too) and that's in the movies. the fun of vegas is in the possibility of winning against the odds.
Edward thorpe was one of the first people to pioneer blackjack advantage play, though he was not actualy the first. He did this almost 50 years ago, if you did get a copy of this paper, it woudl be very outdated and likely not very informative.
Also the blackjack games he attacked back then were very different from the blackjack games offered today, so the information would be almost entirely irrelevant.
